Tasting and Tours between Heaven and Earth

The Bouchard Finlayson cellars are open for wine tastings daily. There is a choice of 9 wines for tasting. A tasting of 3 wines cost R20 per person; a tasting of 6 wines cost R40 per person. Cellar tours are available but need to be pre-booked. Pop in visitors are always welcome, but larger groups should book to avoid disappointment.

DIRECTIONS
From Cape Town, take any road signposted to the airport, which will become the N2 highway. Stay on the N2, past the airport, through Somerset West and over Sir Lowry’s Pass. Stay on the N2 until you arrive at Bot River and the signpost for Hermanus, where you turn off and follow the R43. Shortly after Onrus, but before you enter the town of Hermanus, turn left at the traffic lights onto the R320, and follow Valley Road for a few kilometres. The gates to the Bouchard Finlayson estate will be on your right.

ARRIVING BY HELICOPTER
For those looking to fly in, we have an 'unofficial' Helicopter pad at the entrance to our Estate. We will be happy to transfer you to our Cellar Door. The GPS co-ordinates are 34° 22’ 51.89 / 19°14’ 11.84

A Delicious Deli Platter

Simple and delicious join us for a generous deli platter, served on wooden boards made from old barrels, and laden with: Bresaola charcuterie, mild Gruberg cheese, Colby cheese, ciabatta, estate olive oil, olives, olive tapenade and mixed nuts – served on the terrace overlooking the vineyards, in the romance of the cellar or next to a crackling fire in winter.

The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley is one of the jewels of the Walker Bay area. Guided Nature Walks

Bouchard Finlayson has introduced a unique wine tasting excursion that combines a scenic guided nature walk through the 100 hectares of protected Fynbos on the farm, with an option to taste the latest vintages and/or a delicious Bouchard Deli Platter of charcuterie and cheese to be enjoyed in the cellar or on the terrace overlooking the vineyards.

  • Departs 9am Mondays to Saturdays
  • Choose one of three exquisite walking trails, varying in length from 45 minutes to 2 1/2 hours

Vintage Tastings

Tutored tastings of older vintages are available to small groups, providing a first-hand experience of the incredible maturation potential of the wines. Vintage tastings are available daily at the cellar. Due to the exclusivity of the vintages, the varietal theme will vary according to the older wines available and their taste profile accessibility.

The tasting includes various vintages of our award-winning Pinot Noir priced at R3000 for groups of up to twenty people.  Tastings include cheese and charcuterie delicatessen. 

If you are interested in other vintage varietal tastings such as Chardonnay, unwooded whites, or Hannibal red blend, a tailormade vintage tasting can be arranged.
